“As in nature nothing is perfect. And yet, it is in the imperfections that we find true beauty.” _____Christine Wasnie.
Are you aware that no two snowflakes are alike, no two trees, or blades of grass. No two insects, birds, animals or for that matter humans. Nature has a way of putting things together. Trees make up a forest, flakes make snow, blades of grass a lawn, each content to be part of a whole. Beautiful alone. Beautiful as part of something much larger.
Our experiences with nature in all it’s wonder, walking in a forest, through a garden, up a mountainside or near a stream return us to the simple pleasures of life,,,,,a still mind and open heart. It is our experiences with nature that allow us to connect with ourselves, hear our own voice and thoughts and the song of our soul. Nature reminds us that we too are imperfect and it is these very imperfections that make us unique, who we are. How else could anyone find you in a group!
And yet we strive for perfection, from ourselves and others. A wise neighbor of mine once said, “The world would be an awfully boring place if we were all the same.” The next time you find yourself striving for perfection in yourself and others think of nature and give thanks for all the imperfections that make our world beautiful. Give thanks for YOU!
