Your Gift

“Like Stars Across the Sky, We Were Born to Shine”     Because We Believe Andrea  Bocelli

Each of us are born with unique gifts, gifts that some of us recognize from birth, and gifts we sometimes tuck away for fear they may be discovered and judged by others. FEAR, the ultimate gift wrapper. Fear wraps our gifts in beautiful paper with bows and tape and stickers and even balloons. These are the confines of our gifts tucked away in pretty boxes, unopened, not revealed , hidden away from the light, uncelebrated. Think of it as Christmases from the time you are born never opening your gifts. Never knowing what’s INSIDE. And the ever growing ache of wondering. Always wondering.

How many years have you left your gifts unopened, denying yourself the wonder and awe of sharing your gifts with the world. Once you let go of your fear, fear of others opinions, judgement positive or negative, fear of your own judgement of failure, opening your gifts and sharing them with the world is a culmination of all the Christmas gifts left wrapped. It is joy and awe, and love and laughter . Of YOURSELF. Your soul WILL sing for every unopened gift you have stored away.

Nelson Mandela wrote a beautiful paper titled Return to Spirit: Liberation from Fear, and, I will quote from that seminar. “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us.We ask ourselves: ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be.’

I encourage everyone celebrating Easter and those who are not, to light a candle in honor of yourself and your gifts. The lit candle represents your light that is to be shared with the world. It is the reason you are here.
